Based on the west coast of Scotland, the designer?s collection of gifts and fashion accessories is made with baby alpaca, bamboo fibres and Peruvian EcoWool.
Holmes works with artisans in Peru who hand craft the luxury products, helping sustain Peruvian small producer groups, family businesses and home workers.
Her range of chunky hand knit homeware and lifestyle gifts include slippers boots, slipper socks, sloppy snoods, cushions, throws and hotties.
The Peruvian EcoWool is 100% natural (without bleach or dyes) yarn spun from Andean Highland wool into earthy brown, grey and white colors.
Holmes blends baby alpaca yarn (70%) with bamboo fibre (30%) for it resulting silky softness, lustre and drape in cardigans, shawls and scarves.
The bamboo is desirable because its strong, flexible, renewable and biodegradable, naturally antimicrobial and grown free of pesticides.
